Kate Penoyre

I am a painter and print-maker using acrylic paints and mixed media as well as making screen prints. I use the landscape of rural Sussex and other places further a field that inspire me as a starting point for ideas; working from observation, memory and finally imagination.

I endeavour to evoke the mood of a specific time and place using it as a metaphor for something more abstract. I am concerned with exploring the possibilities of combining and over-laying colours, both subtle and bright, to express and convey moods and thoughts.

I trained as a graphic designer and have painted and drawn all my life.
